How it works:
Writing together in a group, we each go deeper into that mysterious creative soup and delight in sharing what we create when we read our work out loud to each other. We limit feedback to what we like and what we remember in each writer's work. This kind of supportive response gives you the courage to go back to the piece and polish it for publication, or at least to acknowledge the work you’ve done. If you want to attend a drop-in winter session (mentioned above) to see if this method is right for you, just give me a call at 617-733-9016 so we can arrange it.

Our method of creative writing:
Juiceboxartists writing workshops are based on the Amherst Writers and Artists Method and take place in a non competitive environment where everything we do is designed to help you discover and nurture your writer's voice. During each three-hour session, we write from prompts which help you to leapfrog over inhibitions as you make your way to the river of your own creativity. Your imagination and memory will reveal treasures you never thought were there. The more you can assume the curiosity of a scientist in awe of what you discover during these creative and psychic archeological digs, the less likely you'll hold yourself back with the usual inhibiting, squelching tapes, like “Who do I think I am?” or “What makes you think you have anything worthwhile to say?” or “There are enough books in the world! Who needs mine?”

To the Writer in You

The most regretful people on earth

are those who felt the call to creative work,

who felt their own creative power restive and uprising,

and gave to it neither power or time.--Mary Oliver

Set up like a living room, our Somerville, Mass. writing area offers nooks and crannies where you can stretch out, relax, and let your creative juices flow onto the page.

Juiceboxartists writing workshops are open to

beginning writers as well as seasoned, published writers. Because our mission is to encourage each participant to uncover and nurture his/her personal writer’s voice, the method works with writers of all genres: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and writing for the stage and screen.

Our chandelier shines a warm glow over the writing area.

We do at least two timed writing sessions each three-hour class.

This is our “magic wand” timer that gives off a chime when time is up.

Fall Schedule has not been set yet, but you can keep that pen moving with a little prompt every week . . .

If you are interested in signing up for a committed 8 week class in the fall, please write to me today so I’ll put your name on my mailing list and let you know as soon as I have set the dates.

In the meanwhile, if you sign up for a writing prompt from my treasury of proven prompts, sign up through Google checkout on the buy-a-prompt-a-week page to receive your own private prompt every week. I will send out the prompt to you on Sunday evening so you’ve got the whole week to play with it.
